Your first five moves
The Animal Underworld is waiting for its next commander. Make your first move.
Ages 13+. Players under 18 need parent or guardian permission. Read the Game Terms, including virtual items, final purchases and camera/location privacy.
- Sign in and deploy. Enter through the Geo Game introduction. A new commander chooses an army color and two different starter species, then places each army using the setup prompts.
- Choose your scout. Open Map, zoom in to see individual tiles, and tap one of your animal armies.
- Give the order. Choose Move, then tap a destination tile. Your army starts traveling.
- Secure your foothold. On an eligible arrival, stay put for the capture countdown. The tile changes hands automatically when the claim completes.
- Build momentum. Tap Info at the bottom left of the map to watch Your tiles and Army power boost rise in Territory Summary. Expand again, or send your army on Patrol to recover.
Welcome to the Animal Underworld
Geo Game is a persistent territory strategy game on a real-world map. Command animal armies, claim land, challenge rival commanders and fight for wildlife fortresses. Your next move can open a frontier or leave your borders exposed.
Armies follow map commands; you do not have to walk to every destination. Camera capture and GPS boosts are separate features that use your real location. Closing the page does not pause the shared world.
Public beta: the live countdowns, item descriptions and availability shown in-game take priority when settings change.
Turn territory into power
Take land. Hold it. Make your rivals think twice. Each tile you currently own adds +0.02% to army attack and defense. Your total territory supplies this bonus; the tiles do not all have to touch.
See your strength grow
- 50 tiles: +1.00% territory power.
- 100 tiles: +2.00% territory power.
- 250 tiles: +5.00% territory power.
- Losing tiles reduces your current bonus.
Follow your progress
- Open Info on the map for Territory Summary: your tiles, boost and next milestone.
- The progress bar shows how close you are to that target.
- Top 5 ranks commanders by territory.
- Your session recap tracks captures, victories and power gained.
Know your command center
More room for your next move. Tap Info at the bottom left of the map to expand or collapse your territory totals, milestone progress, session recap and Top 5 rankings. On phones, the panel starts collapsed. It remembers your choice in that browser; scroll inside the expanded panel when space is tight.
Lighter updates on the go. The Info panel can show recently saved totals while it refreshes. Totals and rankings update every 30 seconds, or about 60 seconds on a slow connection; your captures request a fresh update. The update time is shown in the panel. Saved totals are display information only: army positions, orders, battles and radar still use the shared server state.
Read the map
- Animal markers represent armies. Colored rings identify their commander.
- Labels show speed and orders such as Idle, Moving or Patrolling.
- Tap an army for its units, species, strength and available commands.
Find what you need
- Armies: inspect your forces. Profile: customize your commander.
- Store: powers and signs. Reports: battles and captures.
- On the map, Capture opens the camera and Chat opens conversations.
- The GPS box shows location boost status and eligibility.
Move with purpose
Tap your army, choose Move, then tap the destination. Use the movement estimate to plan your next claim or reinforcement. Faster travel and longer vision range are different advantages: speed gets you there; vision reveals what is nearby.
Stop interrupts a movement order at the army's current position. An eligible stopped army can begin capturing that tile. If the army is patrolling, choose Regroup before giving new orders.
Claim a tile. Raise the stakes.
An eligible army starts a capture countdown automatically after arriving on a tile you do not own. Stay there until the timer finishes and ownership is confirmed. You do not need an extra Stop click after arrival.
- The striped tile and countdown show a claim in progress. Follow the displayed timer.
- Leaving before completion cancels the claim. An enemy army on the tile can block capture.
- Passing through a tile does not claim it. A tile you already own does not count as a new capture.
- A completed capture pulses the tile and confirms your gain. Open Info and toggle Capture sound in Territory Summary to suit your play style.
Own the information war
When fog-of-war is enabled, your owned territory stays visible and your armies reveal nearby ground within their vision range. Enemy activity beyond that coverage is hidden. A larger army is no help if you send it into the wrong fight.
The circle marks scouting range. The rotating green line is the radar sweep, a visual scouting effect. It is not a movement path or a command. Moving scouts changes what you can see; ground outside your current coverage can become hidden again.
Keep your scouts in view. White-tailed Deer scout within 100 yards; a mixed army uses its best living species' vision. The range circle scales with the map, so zoom closer to inspect a small scouting area.
Scout on patrol. Range circles and radar sweeps follow your roaming patrol groups, and their scouting coverage moves with them. Choose Regroup to bring scouting back to the main army marker.
Use the separate Enemy sound toggle for sighting alerts. Capture sounds have their own control.
Bring the pack together
Merge your own armies to concentrate their animals into one force. Stop both armies and regroup any patrols first. Open one army's More → Merge, then tap another army you control. The selected army marches over to join it.
Your armies can also merge automatically when they finish on the same tile. Keep scouts on separate tiles if you want them to remain independent. Another player's army cannot become yours through Merge.
One force. More possibilities.
- Stop and regroup an army containing at least two animals.
- Open More → Split and choose how many of each species to detach.
- Leave at least one animal in the original army, then confirm.
- Tap a destination when prompted to move the new army away.
Send a fast scout ahead or spread out to claim different tiles. Keep enough strength together to survive a counterattack. Leaving the new army stacked with the original risks a later automatic merge.
Take a wildlife fortress
Wildlife fortresses are defended objectives, also called portals in some game labels. They are strongholds to conquer, not fast-travel gates. Tap one to inspect its owner, defenses and listed territory benefits.
- Move one of your armies onto the fortress tile, then stop and regroup.
- Open its details and choose Claim fortress or Challenge fortress when available.
- Attacks wear down its defenses. Reducing them to zero changes the fortress owner. Wait if the game asks you to pause between attacks.
Connected fortress combat bonuses require your army and your fortress to stand in the same connected area of owned tiles. Connections run through shared tile edges. Fortress strength affects the bonus, and defenses recover over time. Capture the ground around your prize and protect the connection.
Build the next generation
Eligible adult animals advance their natural breeding timers while their army is on patrol. Species have different growth settings. When a birth completes, the newborn animals join the same army; empty tiles do not produce separate armies.
Your commander-wide population capacity is two animals per currently owned tile, across all species and armies. At capacity, natural births wait for room. Capturing more land creates more headroom. A breeding pair is not required by the game's growth rules.
If your population stays over capacity for two days, the ecosystem can reduce it to the limit, removing the weakest animals first. Reclaim enough territory during that grace period to support your force.
Choose the fight you can win
Animal counts matter, but so do species attack and defense, remaining health, territory power and applicable boosts. Read the army details and any battle preview before committing; an estimate cannot guarantee the outcome.
To launch an attack, select your stopped, regrouped army, choose Attack, then select an enemy army. Armies must meet the game's battle distance rules; combat normally requires contact on the same tile. Eligible enemy encounters can also trigger battles automatically.
Starter protection can block combat. Winning a battle and claiming the land are separate events: the surviving eligible army still needs to complete the tile's capture countdown.
Think like a rival commander
Make them guess
- Scout with a small force before committing the main army.
- Choose between spreading out for claims and merging for combat.
- Leave a relic message where rivals will discover it.
Keep your edge
- Protect the owned-tile connection to a captured fortress.
- Patrol wounded armies before the next push.
- Check Reports to learn what happened in your last encounter.
Patrol, recover, return stronger
Choose Patrol on a stopped army. Its animals fan out across your owned territory. This is a recovery order; use Move and the capture countdown to expand your borders.
Patrol healing happens only on patrol. Idle and traveling armies do not receive that recovery. Healing takes time, follows species settings and can benefit from an applicable healing boost. Natural breeding also progresses on patrol.
Choose Regroup to bring the animals back together and end patrol before moving, attacking, splitting or merging.
Time your powers
The Store shows available boosts, signs, prices and durations. Read an item's effect and scope before purchase: some powers affect the player, others a particular army.
Buying, owning and activating are different steps. A pending order has not granted an active boost. After a purchase is confirmed, check your inventory and use its activation control. Check active effects and expiry before your next battle.
Instant reproduction uses available charges and an eligible army/species selection. Message signs use Deploy sign. Follow those item-specific controls rather than looking for a generic boost activation.
Read the story of your campaign
Reports records battles and completed captures. Filter the event list, inspect losses and bonuses, or select a report's tile to jump to the action on the map.
A report describes the event at its recorded time. A capture timestamp is when the tile changed hands, not when that army was first deployed. Historical territory bonuses can differ from the map's current bonus after later gains or losses.
Bring a real wildlife sighting into the game
Spot an animal while exploring? Open Capture on the map with a camera phone or tablet. Open your camera, frame one animal and its surroundings, then choose Record & identify. Allow location access and follow a gentle camera prompt for five seconds. Keep a safe distance and respect wildlife rules.
Built for the field. Capture covers the game navigation to give your camera more room. Record and Close stay within reach. If your camera supports zoom, pinch the camera picture or use the zoom slider or − / + buttons before recording. Pinching the picture zooms the camera without enlarging the page, so directions and progress stay visible. Camera zoom locks while the encounter is being prepared and recorded. Tap Help for instructions, recruitable animals, privacy details and your Wildlife Challenge, then Camera to return to the preview. Turning your phone sideways puts the controls beside the camera.
Keep the animal in view for the short recording. A successful submission adds one animal in a new army at the accepted GPS location. Capture limits, location accuracy and validation checks apply.
Make your next encounter a new discovery. Each player can capture the same species only once every 30 minutes. For example, after a White-tailed Deer capture, wait 30 minutes before another White-tailed Deer; you can look for other species during that time. The Capture guide's animal list shows each active waiting period, and a blocked repeat explains the time remaining. The rule is saved on the server, so refreshing or switching devices does not reset it. Rejected or failed captures do not start a new species cooldown.
Waiting for location? Capture allows up to 45 seconds for a fresh location accurate to 60 meters or better. If location times out, your camera stays ready: check device location services and browser permission, then choose Retry location & record. A GPS-enabled phone outdoors may locate more reliably than a laptop. Camera-opening errors are shown separately, before recording.
Follow your capture as it happens. The progress indicator names the current step and shows elapsed time. The location bar tracks the search window, followed by a three-second countdown and five-second recording. During identification, a moving bar shows that the check is still working; completion is confirmed when your animal is recruited.
Celebrate your wild victory. A verified capture reveals your animal, announces your new ally and confirms it is checked off in your Wildlife Challenge. The reveal highlights both 30-day boosts and links straight to your field journal. When journal details are available, it shows your species total and collection bonus; repeat encounters never claim an extra new-species bonus. After six seconds, the celebration closes and the map zooms to your new army. Choose Go now to jump there sooner or Stay to keep reading. The countdown pauses while Help is open or your browser is in the background. Choose Capture another animal when you are ready for your next discovery.
AI identifies the animal from your camera sequence. Two checks must agree on a game species and find convincing live-scene evidence before recruitment. Pictures, screens, toys and unclear encounters may be declined. Selected image frames are processed with OpenAI; GPS and account details are excluded from that AI request. Camera capture is separate from claiming territory.
Beta availability: camera recruitment may be unavailable while verification setup and testing are being completed. Check the message in Capture before recording. Your existing armies and regular map commands remain available.
Every accepted encounter also advances your Wildlife Challenge. A wild sighting can become your next ally, your next collection milestone and your next reason to brag.
Share the discovery. Verified captures can be announced on Nature-Spy’s Facebook profile when sharing is active. Your commander Profile and Player Settings include Celebrate my wildlife captures on Facebook, checked by default. Uncheck it and save to stop future announcements. The announcement uses your public commander name and the animal species; your GPS coordinates and camera footage are not shared. Posts already sent or published may remain visible.
Wildlife Challenge: can you collect them all?
There are 23 animal species to discover. Build your field journal one real encounter at a time, strengthen your armies and work toward the title Master of the Animal Underworld.
1.5× power · 30 days
Each verified captured animal gets 50% more combat power through increased attack, defense and armor. The reward follows that individual through splits and merges.
+50% reproduction · 30 days
That captured animal builds reproduction progress 50% faster while patrolling. It must be an eligible adult, and normal population capacity rules still apply.
Both individual boosts expire 30 days after that animal's capture. Each new capture has its own timer. Offspring start with normal stats and do not inherit the capture boosts.
Spot your wild recruits. Camera-captured animals have a subtle golden glow and a small relic star on the map, including in mixed armies and on patrol. The mark follows the captured animal through splits and merges and remains after its boosts expire. Offspring do not inherit this mark. The colored ring under each animal still identifies its commander.
Another capture of the same species still recruits a boosted animal and increases your encounter count. It does not add another species bonus. Your completed-species record and collection bonus remain even after the individual boosts expire or an animal is lost.
Your field journal
Open My Wildlife Challenge from your commander profile or the Capture window. The table lists every species, checks off verified captures and records encounter counts, your most recent capture date and time, and its location.
Your private journal shows exact capture coordinates and the latest capture's boost expiry. Dates and times use your device's time zone. Use Show undiscovered animals to plan your next goal.
Make your discoveries known
Commander stats show your collector title, species progress, total verified captures and collection bonus. Open a commander's collection to see their progress and the brag board.
Choose Share this brag board to share or copy your board's link. Visitors can view it without signing in. Shared boards show approximate areas only; exact capture coordinates stay private.
Your path to the top: collector titles
- 1 species: First Encounter
- 5 species: Trail Scout
- 10 species: Wildlife Tracker
- 15 species: Wild Guardian
- All 23 current species: Master of the Animal Underworld
The brag board ranks commanders by different species collected, then total verified captures. Only verified camera captures earn challenge credit; older manual or test captures are excluded.
Bring your presence to the battle
When GPS Boost is enabled, a fresh accepted location can give your attacking army a bonus within the displayed range. Open the map's GPS box and read Range, Boost and Eligible together.
Enabled does not mean applied. The army must be in range, and the location fix must meet the game's freshness and accuracy checks. GPS Boost does not move an army. If you previously blocked location access, change the site's browser permission when you want to use it; ordinary map commands do not require GPS.
Use your opening shield wisely
Starter armies receive temporary protection. Watch their shield indicator and remaining time while you establish territory. Protection expires; it is not permanent ownership of the surrounding land.
An intentional attack on another player can remove starter protection across your armies. Read the Attack and Lose Shield confirmation, including when the target is still protected. An enemy's active starter shield can prevent the battle.
Store shield effects modify combat according to their descriptions. They are separate from starter protection and do not automatically grant the same immunity.
Meet the commander behind the army
Tap another commander's army and choose Commander stats to inspect their territory, armies, animal count and total strength. Commander names in army popups and Top 5 also open the profile card.
Choose Message for a private conversation, or open Chat for world chat and conversation history. Block controls manage unwanted private messages. Automated commanders cannot receive private messages.
Leave your mark on the wild
A warning at the border. A challenge to your rival. A message for the next scout. Relic signs put your commander's image and words on the map.
- Open Store and check your available Message Signs. Territory milestones can earn free signs; the Store shows the next award and purchase options.
- Choose Deploy sign, pick a tile you own, write your message and confirm placement.
- Tap a placed relic to read its full message, author, durability and remaining lifetime.
Signs last for the displayed duration and can be destroyed. Keep the taunts playful and give other commanders a reason to remember your name.
Field questions
Where are my territory totals and Top 5 rankings?
Tap Info at the bottom left of the map. The panel starts collapsed on phones to give your map more room. Tap it again to close it; your browser remembers your choice. See Know your command center.
Why did my army arrive without claiming the tile?
Arrival starts an eligible claim; ownership changes after the countdown completes. Stay on the tile, check for an enemy army and wait for confirmation. Passing through does not capture land.
Why are Move, Split or Merge missing?
You can command only your own armies. Regroup a patrol and stop movement where required. Split needs at least two animals. Look under More for Split and Merge.
Why did two of my armies become one?
Your armies can automatically merge when they finish on the same tile. Their animals remain in the combined force. Use Split and move the new army to a different tile if you need separate teams.
Why has natural growth stopped?
The army needs eligible adult animals on patrol, breeding enabled for that species, enough elapsed time and room within your commander-wide territory capacity. Newborns join their parent's army.
Can I teleport through a fortress?
No. Fortresses are defended objectives with connected territory bonuses. Move onto the tile and challenge its defenses to take control.
Why was my camera capture rejected?
Check the displayed reason: location accuracy, an incomplete recording, capture limits or a repeated submission can prevent acceptance. Start a fresh capture with a stable location and a clear live view.
Do both capture boosts end after 30 days?
Yes. A captured animal's 1.5× combat power and 50% faster reproduction both expire 30 days after its capture. Your completed-species record and permanent collection bonus remain. See Wildlife Challenge & rewards for the full rules.
Does capturing the same species again increase my collection bonus?
It recruits another animal with its own 30-day capture boosts and increases your encounter count. The permanent +1% collection bonus is awarded once per different species.
How do I change my commander name or image?
Open Profile to update your commander identity. Your commander image also appears on your relic signs.
