Terms of Play

1. Agreement and scope

These terms apply to Geo Game, its game accounts, camera capture, chat, map messages, virtual items and Store. Please read them before playing. By using the game, you agree to these terms to the extent that agreement is legally effective. A purchase also requires the acknowledgment shown at checkout.

These terms supplement the Nature-Spy general terms. If the general terms conflict with these terms about Geo Game, these game-specific terms control. Other Nature-Spy services, including photo licensing and Marketplace transactions, keep their separate rules.

These terms do not retroactively remove rights you already have concerning earlier purchases.

2. Age and parent or guardian permission

Geo Game is for players aged 13 and older. Children under 13 may not create or use a game account, submit camera captures or make game purchases. Do not misrepresent your age.

If you are 13–17, a parent or legal guardian must review these terms and the privacy notice, give permission for your use, and approve purchases. Use a payment account only as permitted by its provider and with the account holder's authorization. Parent permission does not make a payment provider's adult-only account available to a minor.

If you believe an account belongs to a child under 13, contact support. We will review the report and restrict the account and address the child's information as required by applicable law. An age declaration is not a claim that we have independently verified someone's age or a parent's identity.

3. Accounts and access

Use your authorized Nature-Spy sign-in, keep your credentials secure and contact support if your account is compromised. Do not sell, rent, buy, share for commercial purposes or transfer game accounts or access credentials.

Game access is a limited, personal, noncommercial license to use the service under these terms. It does not transfer ownership of the software, game systems or assets. Ordinary personal gameplay, accessibility tools and sharing your own gameplay screenshots are allowed, subject to other people's rights and the fair-play rules.

4. Virtual items and game progress

Animals, armies, territory, powers, boosts, signs and any other virtual game benefits exist for entertainment within Geo Game. Buying an item gives you the described in-game use, subject to its duration, charges and conditions. It is not an investment, savings balance, financial instrument or ownership of real property or an animal.

Virtual items and game accounts cannot be transferred or resold between players, redeemed for cash, or exchanged for real-world goods, services or prizes. Nature-Spy offers no cash-out or player wagering system. Do not arrange wagers or real-money trades through the game. A refund legally owed for a purchase is a billing remedy, not redemption of an item.

Territory, animals and other progress can be lost under game rules. Powers do not guarantee victory, permanent territory, uninterrupted access or a particular rank. Read the item description and How to Play before using them.

5. Purchases, final sales and billing problems

Before paying, check the item, quantity, amount, duration, activation requirements and selected payment method. Authorize a purchase only if you understand it and are entitled to use the payment account. We use the payment methods offered at the current checkout; provider terms also apply.

Authorized, correctly delivered purchases are final and non-refundable, except where applicable law requires a refund or another remedy. We do not offer refunds because you change your mind, lose a battle or territory, use an item, or let its disclosed duration or charges run out.

This policy does not waive mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable cancellation or withdrawal right. It does not excuse a duplicate charge, an unauthorized charge, nondelivery or a defective purchase where the law requires a remedy.

Report billing problems promptly to support@nature-spy.com with your commander name and order reference. We will investigate and correct the issue or provide the remedy that applies. Do not send full payment card details. Where a refund is due, we will use the original payment method where practicable and required.

A pending order or payment report is not a promise of confirmed payment or delivery. Check its status before trying again. Raising a good-faith billing complaint or disputing an unauthorized charge is not, by itself, a violation of these terms.

6. Public beta, availability and changes

Geo Game is in public beta. Bugs, downtime, balancing changes and corrections to game data can occur. We may change features, species stats, capture requirements or game rules and may need to correct, reset or roll back progress. We do not promise that beta progress or a rank will be permanent.

We will give reasonable notice of material changes or closure where practicable. Necessary changes do not remove our responsibility for paid purchases or remedies required by law. These terms do not give us a right to charge you again without authorization or to deny a remedy simply by calling the game a beta.

7. Fair play and community rules

Play competitively and keep rivalries in the game. Do not:

• Cheat, deliberately exploit a bug, forge capture evidence, spoof location to gain benefits, or tamper with purchases or game records.
• Use unauthorized automated gameplay, attack the service, bypass security or access another person's account or private data.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, dox or discriminate against others; post sexual content involving minors, unlawful content or instructions for real-world harm.
• Spam, promote cash trades or wagers, infringe intellectual property, or use the game to arrange illegal conduct.

Playful taunts and strategic competition are welcome. Threats against a person, disclosure of private information and attacks on wildlife are not. Report problems through support rather than testing an exploit against other players.

8. Messages, images and capture submissions

You retain the rights you hold in your original messages, profile images and capture media. Submit only material you have the right to use, and respect other people's privacy. Do not include private addresses or other sensitive personal information in public signs or chat.

You grant Nature-Spy a nonexclusive license to host, store, process, transmit and display your game submissions as needed to operate the feature you use, moderate abuse, maintain security and resolve disputes. Public signs, public profile images and world-chat messages can be shown to other players. Capture evidence is used for game verification and administration rather than automatically posted to the public photo gallery.

This game license does not grant us a general right to sell your photographs or train external AI models on your capture media. Separate photo uploads and licensing choices elsewhere on Nature-Spy keep their own terms. Necessary service backups and records for an active dispute may remain after removal of a public post.

9. Real-world locations and wildlife

Map tiles, armies, borders and signs are virtual. They do not grant ownership, access or permission to enter real land, parks, buildings or restricted areas. Map information may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Stay aware of your surroundings. Do not play while driving, trespass, enter unsafe areas, bait wildlife, approach dangerous animals or break park and wildlife rules for a capture. Use camera zoom and keep an appropriate distance. You can issue ordinary army commands without physically visiting every tile.

10. Geo Game privacy notice

This notice explains game-specific information handling. It supplements the Nature-Spy privacy page; for conflicting descriptions of Geo Game, this notice controls.

What the game uses

• Account and identity: your linked Nature-Spy user ID, username and email; commander name, image and preferences.
• Gameplay: armies, species, territory, game positions, actions, captures, battles, powers and reports.
• Location: with browser permission, accepted GPS coordinates, accuracy, timestamps and validation history for camera capture and GPS Boost. Location fixes may be updated while the map is open, including while you are stationary.
• Camera evidence: the camera image sequence and any supported short video you submit, identified species, capture location and validation results. The camera flow records without microphone audio. When AI camera verification is enabled, selected image frames are sent to OpenAI for species identification and authenticity checks; your GPS coordinates and account details are not included in that AI request. Automated identification can make mistakes, and unclear captures may be declined. OpenAI processes the submitted frames under its applicable API data policies.
• Communications and purchases: chat, signs, support requests, items ordered, amounts, payment status and provider references. Payment providers handle payment credentials.
• Service and security: session cookies, browser storage for game preferences, IP/browser information, timestamps and security records, including hashed identifiers used by some protections.

Use and visibility

We use this information to provide and synchronize the game, validate captures and purchases, prevent abuse, support players, moderate content and meet legal obligations. Camera permission alone does not post a photograph to the social photo gallery.

A successful camera capture places a game army at the accepted GPS location. That map position may be visible to other players and can reveal where you were. Commander identity and statistics, visible armies and territory, public signs and world chat are shared game features. Private messages are available to participants and may be accessed by the operator for support, security or moderation; they are not represented as end-to-end encrypted.

Capture evidence is stored in a directory configured to block direct public access. That is not a promise that any online service is perfectly secure. Do not submit sensitive surroundings or other people without an appropriate right to do so.

Capture announcements: the “Celebrate my wildlife captures on Facebook” setting starts enabled in your commander Profile and Player Settings. When sharing is active, a verified capture can send your public commander name, species, capture date/time and event identifier to our Grok automation for a post on Nature-Spy’s public Facebook profile. The announcement does not include GPS coordinates, camera images/video, contact information or login credentials. Uncheck the setting and save to stop future announcements and cancel those still pending in the game. Tasks already sent to Grok and posts already published may remain; contact support for removal help.

Providers and disclosures

Hosting, map, font and payment providers process information needed to provide their services. The map uses OpenStreetMap and Esri tiles; requests to map servers can reveal your IP address and the map areas requested. A provider's privacy terms apply to its own processing. We may disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or safety, or in a lawful business transfer with applicable protections and notices.

Your choices, retention and contact

Camera and GPS features are optional. You can deny or revoke browser permissions and continue ordinary map commands. A feature that requires the camera or a valid GPS fix will not work without it. Closing the feature or page stops its active browser use; revoking permission does not automatically delete already submitted records.

Account, gameplay, communications and transaction records are retained to provide the service and address security, support, tax, accounting and legal needs. The beta does not currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule for capture evidence or GPS validation history. Contact support to request access, correction, removal of public content, or account/data deletion. We will review requests and retain exceptions only where justified or required by applicable law. Operational backups may take additional time to expire.

We do not authorize children under 13 to submit information to Geo Game. Contact support@nature-spy.com about a privacy request or a child-under-13 concern. Further mandatory privacy rights in your location remain available.

11. Moderation, suspension and appeals

We may remove content or restrict game access for a material rule violation, a credible security or safety issue, fraud, legal requirements or operation of the service. Emergency restrictions may take effect immediately; otherwise we will provide an explanation and an opportunity to correct an issue where appropriate.

You may request review at support with your commander name and the action you are appealing. We do not treat a good-faith report or lawful payment dispute, by itself, as misconduct. Restrictions and account closure remain subject to mandatory consumer rights and any remedy legally owed for a purchase.

12. Intellectual property, service limits and applicable law

Nature-Spy and its licensors retain the rights they hold in game code, branding and assets. Do not claim ownership of them or commercially redistribute them without permission. This does not take away rights you hold in your own submissions or uses the law permits.

To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee the conduct of other players or your game results. Nothing here excludes liability or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable responsibility for fraud, serious misconduct or legally protected consumer remedies.

North Carolina law governs these game-specific terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. Mandatory protections of your home jurisdiction and access to courts or regulators remain available. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or require waiver of a lawful consumer claim.

13. Updates, operator changes and contact

We will identify a new version and effective date when these terms change, give notice of material changes as required, and obtain further agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively eliminate a remedy for an earlier purchase.

If the legal operator changes, including following formation of an LLC, we will update the operator identity and provide any notices or other protections required for that change. This version names Donald Brown as the current operator.
